4 Steps to Future-Proof Online Visibility

I have been working in the Internet marketing industry for more than 10 years now, and through my extensive years in the industry, I have come up with 10 future-proof ways to get better online visibility for any business. All of these steps have worked consistently whatever new trends have come and gone. So, without further ado…

Excellent and Highly Relevant Content on Your Website

Everything is about content nowadays. Well-written content on your website that is highly relevant to your industry can do wonders for your online visibility. Not only will search engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo pay more attention to your website, the great content on your website may proliferate naturally in the social media scape.

I have worked with numerous businesses in the past and one thing I have recommended to them is to write and publish at least 100 pages of new, unique, relevant, and well-crafted content designed to attract visitors. Again, it is vital to stress that the content you publish isn’t just the general stuff but the stuff of legends, so to speak.

For instance, if you are a lawyer and want your website to get more traffic, write about the legal industry, specific to your areas of practice or specialties. Write about how to deal with specific cases and situations, provide the steps to overcome their legal problems, and what not. If you practice in a specific state, make sure to post information and updates on the law in that particular state.

If you regularly post quality, relevant content on your website, people will soon find it, which will grant you a nice bump in online traffic and hopefully conversions.

Getting Into the Social Game

In the paragraph above, I mentioned that content is king. Yes it is, but for every page of content you post, it would be extremely beneficial to share that content to a variety of outlets. And the easiest channel to tap is social media. Go share that post on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Stumbleupon, Digg to name a few. These sites are full of people looking to consume and share content. If your content is that good, it may go viral with people sharing it to other people and so on, so forth.

Now, the easiest way to do this is to share the content on your own social pages. You can do it manually or you can install a social sharing plugin (if your CMS platform allows such plugins) to do it automatically as you post content.

Firing Up the Classifieds

One great way to get some mileage and business fast online is by tapping the various online classified ad platforms online. This is especially vital if you are in a local market. Sites like Craigslist and Backpages.

Post well-crafted ads posted on those sites on a daily or weekly basis and you should be able to get some calls or email inquiries in for the services you provide. The same works if you are selling a product or item.

Investing in Paid Ads

Another effective way to get your website in front of people is through paid advertising. Now, there is a lot of risk here as the ROI on your investment may not equate to earnings. But if you do things the right way and target the right audience, you can really make a killing.

  • Find websites in your niche or industry and contact them for ad placement.
  • Invest in a Google Adwords campaign
  • Invest in Social Advertising on Facebook, Twitter, etc..
